Weekly Round-up |

Good evening Resident, It's the final week before Christmas and it feels like its lasted forever, but now it's over and here's a run down of what's been going on in the city centre!
What’s Been Happening
Arrests – Eight arrests were made this week for a range of offences. These included one arrest for failing to appear at court, one for theft, one for failing to appear in relation to an assault by beating of an emergency worker, and one for assault, with CCTV enquiries ongoing throughout Saturday and Sunday. Further arrests were made for sexual assault, an additional failure to appear, and assault. One individual was subsequently arrested for robbery and assault on an emergency worker. Another male self-presented at Central Police Station and subsequently charged and bailed.
Community Engagement – Officers joined with Wolverhampton Council on Friday to deliver a fraud and scam awareness surgery at NatWest on Exchange Street, providing advice and practical guidance to the local community. The session saw 20 people engaged in conversations about fraud prevention, with fraud awareness packs handed out to help attendees recognise and protect themselves from scams.
PCSOs attended Santander on Saturday to host another scam awareness surgery, offering advice and reassurance to members of the public. The session was well attended, with 16 people turning up to chat with officers, ask questions, and receive practical guidance on how to spot and avoid scams.
PCSOs also hosted a Christmas crime prevention event at the Wulfrun Centre, engaging with shoppers and families throughout the day. Officers handed out crime prevention leaflets and festive freebies, while children enjoyed activity books and sweets. The event proved highly successful, with a total of 344 people engaged, helping to spread important safety messages during the busy Christmas period.
Guardian Patrols – Business as usual for our Officers this week with Guardian Patrols thankfully proving to be very quiet.
Night-Time Economy – No NTE patrols for City Centre Team 2 this week as the weekend fell on our early shifts. No doubt we will be back at it for New Years Eve.
In Other News - Two city centre officers were flagged down while attending an address and were faced with the unfortunate task of dealing with a deceased male. The officers remained at the scene for several hours to carry out the necessary procedures and provide reassurance. There were no suspicious circumstances or foul play involved, and our sincere condolences are with the gentleman’s family and loved ones at this difficult time.
